I used do a lot of family documentary photography, but I have dialed back on that, as my focus has been on couples and elopements. I still do them occasionally tough and enjoy it a lot. Sometimes in the families homes, sometimes outdoors. The keyword is unscripted. I use a documentary approach. You live your everyday lives and I just happen to be there to photograph it.
It’s not a photoshoot, it’s just me hanging out with you for the day or for however long we have decided. Sometimes it’s a full day, sometimes it’s for a couple of hours. It can be in your home, your summerhouse, your allotment hut (kolonihavehus), a trip to the beach or a playdate in to woods.
And then things just unfold. Of course we can arrange for you to bake a cake or play ball. But it’s when my presence is no longer interesting, that the awesome moments tend to happen.
So it’s really pretty laid back. Only thing required, is that everyone is in on it.
